Fesh-fesh and ice

The landscape is changing in the Dakar, but this doesn’t mean the task got any easier for Tomas Ourednicek and Pavel Vaculik. The crew of Buggyra Ultimate Dakar finished another very hot stage in 44th position in their Hummer H3 Evo, and currently they are 49th overall.

“We started well, overtook some cars and trucks, but after a few kilometres we lost our rear brakes. Then the chance to attack was over, we just tried to survive. We got stuck in the fesh-fesh, but some trucks helped us, so we managed to get out.

The special was not only very long but also extremely hot. The water in our car got so warm that it was impossible to drink it. We met some fans along the track, and when we asked them for water, a guy brought us some ice! Some kilometres later, we received another nice portion of ice from two girls. In these circumstances it was fantastic to have something cold to drink.

We are not too hapy with our result, but at least we finished another stage and we arrived to the bivouac. Because of our encounter with the fesh-fesh, we are so dirty now that you wouldn’t recognise us” Tomas Ourednicek recalled their adventures in Stage 11.

The two trucks of Tatra Buggyra Racing, driven by Jaroslav Valtr and Martin Kolomy finished Thursday’s special in 7th and 8th position respectively. In the overall classification Valtr occupies the 9th place while Kolomy is 17th.

On Friday, the penultimate day of the 2016 Dakar Rally leads the competitors from San Juan to Villa Carlos Paz. With a total distance not less than 931 kilometres, this is the longest stage of the race this year. The special of the day will be 481 km.
