Dakar route presented in Prague
The annual Dakar World Tour had its second stop in the Czech capital on 3 May, for the first time since 2011. No surprise that beside the representatives of the televisions and printed media, the event attracted a lot of interest among the competitors and potential competitors, and many of them took the opportunity to listen to the organisers’ words about the plans for the 2017 edition, among others the driver of Buggyra Ultimate Dakar, Tomas Ourednicek. The preparation for Dakar 2017 has already started!
“Dakar is for sure the biggest motorsport event in the world and it was very interesting to see all the data the organisers presented about how huge the interest was for the 2016 edition among fans. We are really proud of having been the part of this legend, and we’d like to say thank you to our sponsors again for making it possible. The route of the 2017 Dakar seems to be interesting and very hard, with not less than five high altitude stages in Bolivia. But we love challenge so looking forward to January” Tomas Ourednicek said after the press conference.
The 12 stages of the rally will take place in Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina, between 2-14 January, 2017. The start will be hosted by Asuncion for the first time, then the competitors tackle the five Bolivian stages, well above 3000 metres. After the rest day in La Paz, the teams head to the south towards the well-known tracks of Argentina before reaching the finish line in Buenos Aires.
