2015 edition of HunGarian Baja started well for the crew of Ultimate Dakar: Tomas Ourednicek and Pavel Vaculik clocked the 8th time in the Superspecial Friday afternoon. According to the World Cup rules, the top 10 crews are allowed to choose their starting position for Saturday’s stage so Tomas and Pavel will be 6th on the road.

„The track was tricky because there were sudden changes between tarmac and gravel sections, and it was quite slippery. We didn’t want to take too many risks so decided to start cautiously, not to make any mistakes but being able to get a good starting position for tomorrow’s long stage. Our result was better than we expected, and being in the top 10 in the Superspecial means that we were able to choose our starting position for tomorrow, so we are going to start 6th. I think HunGarian Baja began in a good way for us” Tomas Ourednicek reported.

During the evening the Service Park moved from Nyirád to Veszprém, more precisely to Veszprém Arena, a state-of-the-art sports and events complex, that host the rally HQ for the rest of the weekend. Saturday will be a long day for the teams since they have to complete two specials of 175 km each.
